Doctoral Program In Communication Science Admission

Documents and/or data required to register are as follows:

  1. Original certificate from the previous education level (S2 or equivalent) from an accredited study program in the appropriate and/or related field of science and approved by the Master Program to be followed;

  2. Transcript of original grades with a Grade Point Average at the Masters level or equivalent, with the following criteria:
    1. ≥ 3.00 on a scale of 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from A-accredited study programs, or;
    2. ≥ 3.25 on a scale of 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from B-accredited study programs, or;
    3. ≥ 3.50 on a scale of 4 or equivalent, for applicants graduating from C-accredited study programs.

  3. Certificate of accreditation of study programs at the master's level, with the following conditions:
    1. The accreditation of the study program in question is the current accreditation and is proven by a scan of the accreditation certificate or print screen of accreditation from the page of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT)/LAM-PTKes which is still valid;
    2. Study Programs whose accreditation is in the process of being extended, as evidenced by the receipt of submission of the accreditation form to BAN-PT/LAM-PTKes obtained from the concerned university. The certificate from the concerned university is not valid;
    3. Applicants for overseas graduates must have a certificate of equalization certificate from KEMDIKBUD in lieu of an accreditation certificate. The committee only processes accreditation documents that comply with the provisions

  4. Potential test result certificate* that is still valid (maximum 2 years from the date of issuance of the certificate). The committee only accepts potency test results:

    *) Applicants must have a score. However, because we are currently still in the Covid-19 pandemic situation, a policy is taken that scores that do not meet the minimum requirements mentioned above can still register for this period.

  5. Certificate of English proficiency test results* that is still valid (maximum 2 years from the date of issuance of the certificate). The committee only accepts the results of the English language proficiency test:

  6. Confidential recommendations from 2 (two) people who know prospective students at the previous level of education. Academic Advisory Lecturer and/or other person deemed authorized, for example the supervisor of the prospective student's place of work. The link to provide recommendations online will be sent by the UGM UM Committee to the recommender via email. Make sure the recommender's email address is a valid and active email address.

  7. Special conditions:
    1. Projection of prospective students' wishes to join the program (format can be downloaded here).
    2. Dissertation research proposal*/essay writing/other special requirements required by the study program.

  8. Permit/study assignment letter from the workplace agency for applicants who are already working (format can be downloaded here);

  9. Document Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Cooperation Agreement (PKS) or Letter of Determination as Scholarship Recipients that are still valid (especially for applicants for cooperation pathways);

  10. Document Authenticity Statement Document (format can be downloaded here).

The Study Program/Faculty/Postgraduate School can determine the standard of GPA, potential test, and English language ability higher than that required by the University. For further information, please contact the destination study program.
